Our Must Have Meals in Midtown, NYC

As you may have seen on Instagram, I went on a girls trip last week to New York City.  We had an amazing time seeing shows, shopping, and, of course, indulging in some delicious meals!  We were total tourists, but loved every minute of it.

Our first stop was Black Tap, known for their craft burgers, beer, and “crazy shakes”.  We all got different burgers, and the best one was The Greg Norman, made with wagyu beef, house buttermilk-dill, blue cheese, and arugula.  The highlight of the meal though was our shakes, The Cake Shake and Cookie ‘N Cream Supreme, which had a slice of confetti cake and an ice cream sandwich on top!

The next day, we had afternoon tea for lunch at the iconic Palm Court at The Plaza hotel.  Of all the teas I’ve had here and abroad, this is always one of my favorites.  The Truffled Chicken Salad sandwich and Rooibos des Vahinés tea (vanilla almond) are the best.

For dinner that evening, we went back to an old fave, Dos Caminos.  Whether you go for brunch, lunch, or dinner, you’ve got to get the guacamole, which is made fresh to order and served with a trio of salsas and warm corn tortilla chips.

The next day, we were thrilled to finally go to The Blue Box Cafe at the Tiffany & Co. Flagship on 5th Ave, which opened last November.  Finally, you can have “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”!  It’s located on the 4th floor, along with their luxury home and accessories collection.

They offer breakfast, a two course lunch, and afternoon tea.  The food was great, but I think our favorite part was the pretty blue decor and desserts!

How cute is this Tiffany box cake? And it’s confetti cake inside!

If desserts are your thing, then be sure to head to Serendipity 3 for their frozen hot chocolate and Milk Bar for their Crack Pie.

Last but not least, we went to a personal fave, the BG Restaurant at Bergdorf Goodman.  Designer Kelly Wearstler transformed this top floor space into one of the most chic department store restaurants you’ll find, and the food is amazing too!  The Lobster Salad, made with avocado, cucumber, and mango, is a must.

We had such a great visit, and I’m already looking forward to our next one there!  What are your favorite spots in the city?

Also, I’m planning trips to Austin, Paris, London, Rome, the Amalfi Coast, and Santorini – please shoot me a DM if you have any recommendations!  Thanks!
